About Us

Baring the name of its founder, Valerio Canez SA was established in 1937 in downtown Port au Prince. Through its outstanding reputation, VCSA managed to acquire the coveted honor of being General Electric?s first international distributor for their highly regarded electrical and household appliances. In order to meet the demands of the growing Haitian market in the 1950?s, Mr. Canezs? son, Leslie Canez was able to diversify the range of the items that the company was offering its clients. Through different endeavors, he was able to do business according to our longstanding motto of leadership and superior quality resulting in client satisfaction. During L. Canezs? quest to satisfy the market, he instigated the sale of light bulbs and that of medical necessities such as X-rays in Haiti. Hilda Canez Auguste his sister began working within the company in the mid fifties.

By 1975, VCSA was facing one of its hardest losses through the death of Mr. Valerio Canez, its founder. In the course of time, VCSA was also able to withhold an admirable reputation with world-renowned suppliers in its pursuit for total client satisfaction; in addition, this led to the spur of our pride and qualities. Later on, Ralph Auguste H. Canezs? son joined VCSA, then ventured by modernizing and expending the company via the uses of computer information technology, and specialized employees. He also instated the tradition of a continuous annual forecast within the company in order to facilitate the reach of company quotas.

Thereafter, the company blossomed and provided the Haitian market with a greater array of electrical and household necessities. Following the imminent presence of other members of the family in the company, more expansion and space became imperative for the survival of VCSA. Thus, H. Canez with the support of her son R. Auguste, undertook the hard task of building another store in Delmas 16 in the 1980?s. Shortly after, H. Canezs? other children Rene-Max, Joel and Michaelle Auguste joined the company. With their added support and capacities as well as the increase in demand of furniture in Haiti, the company expanded yet again. Thus, R-M Auguste initiated the sale of alternative energy such as inverters and generators due to the growing need of electricity in Haiti. Moreover, in 2000 VCSA built a state of the art showroom in Chateaublond for the sale of furniture and household accessories. However, before doing so the company?s legal status was changed from a sole proprietorship company to a corporation in 1984. Meanwhile, the demands for VCSAs? products were rising at a fast pace; therefore, VCSA started creating distributors within the country in order to satisfy both their clientele and their increasing need of expansion. As the company was making its mark in 2000 with their showroom of 50,000 square feet in Chateaublond, the third generation of the family joined the business. In 2006 one year short of VCSAs? Seventy year anniversary, the sudden death of R. Auguste our General manager affected both the Haitian business and educational world, as well as his family.

Through the awareness of its board for the satisfaction of its clients, VCSA managed to become a leader in the sale of electrical materials and appliances by employing a qualified labor force and by offering a competent maintenance and delivery service for our goods.

In addition, the company plays a major role in different social activities by donating to and helping with different forms of educational, and health issues. Its greatest and latest achievement towards the Haitian community is the construction of La foundation Francoise Canez Auguste a non-profitable ?museum and park? nicknamed Le Parc Historique de la Canne a Sucre. Due to VCSAs? concern and eagerness to help the country surmount the obstacles it faces, the shareholders of VCSA are active members of numerous benevolent associations and often participate in helping the Haitian government achieve different projects
