COMPANY HISTORY
Baring the name of its founder, Valerio Canez SA was established in 1937 in
downtown Port au Prince. Through its outstanding reputation, VCSA managed to
acquire the coveted honor of being General Electric’s first international
distributor for their highly regarded electrical and household appliances.
In order to meet the demands of the growing Haitian market in the 1950’s,
Mr. Canezs’ son, Leslie Canez was able to diversify the range of the items
that the company was offering its clients. Through different endeavors, he
was able to do business according to our longstanding motto of leadership
and superior quality resulting in client satisfaction. During L. Canezs’
quest to satisfy the market, he instigated the sale of light bulbs and that
of medical necessities such as X-rays in Haiti. Hilda Canez Auguste his
sister began working within the company in the mid fifties.
By 1975,
VCSA was facing one of its hardest losses through the death of Mr. Valerio
Canez, its founder. In the course of time, VCSA was also able to withhold an
admirable reputation with world-renowned suppliers in its pursuit for total
client satisfaction; in addition, this led to the spur of our pride and
qualities. Later on, Ralph Auguste H. Canezs’ son joined VCSA, then ventured
by modernizing and expending the company via the uses of computer
information technology, and specialized employees. He also instated the
tradition of a continuous annual forecast within the company in order to
facilitate the reach of company quotas.
